How Sift's credit wallet works, buying top-up packs, and automatic recharge

Credits, Top-ups & Auto-Recharge

Every Sift plan includes a monthly credit wallet shared across all channels. When you run low you can buy a one-off top-up pack, or enable auto-recharge to top up automatically before the balance runs out.

How Credits Are Spent

All channels draw from the same wallet at different rates:

Lead qualification is unlimited — credits only meter AI messages. Each plan's monthly allowance:

Top-up Packs

Buy extra credits any time, on any plan. Top-ups are added to your wallet for the current period.

Tip

If you regularly need top-ups, upgrading to the next plan tier is more cost-effective than buying packs month after month.

Auto-Recharge

Auto-recharge automatically purchases a top-up pack when your credit balance drops below a threshold — so your agent never stops responding to leads mid-conversation.

Auto-recharge requires a Growth or Scale plan.

How It Works

  1. You enable auto-recharge in Billing
  2. When your balance drops below the threshold, Sift purchases a top-up pack via Stripe
  3. The conversation continues without interruption
  4. You receive an email receipt from Stripe

Enabling Auto-Recharge

Click Billing in the sidebar.

In the usage area, find the Auto-Recharge toggle.

Toggle it on. The default threshold triggers when your balance is close to empty.

Tip

Auto-recharge is recommended for agencies with active SMS channels — SMS spends 20 credits per message, so balances move faster and you don't want leads to wait during business hours.

What Happens When You Run Out

If auto-recharge is not enabled and your credit balance reaches zero:

  1. The agent pauses sending new AI messages until your allowance resets or you buy a top-up
  2. Inbound enquiries continue to be received
  3. Your balance resets on the 1st of next month
