What happens when you run low on credits
Message Limits
Sift meters usage with a single monthly credit wallet shared across all channels. There is no lead cap — lead qualification is unlimited. When your credits run out, AI sending pauses until you top up, upgrade, or the allowance resets on the 1st of the next month.

Credits are spent at 1 per web-chat message, 2 per email, 20 per SMS.
What Happens When You Run Out
- Inbound enquiries (web, email, SMS) are still received and the AI reads them
- Outbound AI replies pause once the balance hits zero
- An alert email is sent at 80% and 100% of your allowance
- Your allowance resets on the 1st of the next month
- You can buy a top-up pack from the Billing page to resume immediately
How to Resume Immediately
- Go to Billing in the sidebar
- Click Buy Credits
- Choose a pack — £15 / 1,000 credits or £75 / 5,000 credits
- Pay via Stripe (card)
- Credits are added immediately — AI responses resume
Usage Alerts
Sift sends email alerts at:
- 80% usage — "You've used 80% of your monthly credits"
- 100% usage — "You've used all your monthly credits"
These are sent once per day so you have time to react.
Checking Your Remaining Credits
Two places to check:
- Billing page — detailed usage bar showing credits used vs. total
- Sidebar credits — quick view at the bottom of the dashboard sidebar
