Agent Personality
Your agent's personality determines how it talks to leads — its name, tone, and opening messages. These settings shape the first impression leads have of your agency.
Configuring in the Playground
All personality settings are accessible from the Playground page:
- Go to Playground in the sidebar
- Use the Config panel on the left to adjust settings
- Test changes immediately in the chat simulator on the right
Settings
Agent Name
The name your agent introduces itself as. This appears in the chat header and greeting messages.
Examples:
- "Alex" or "Emma" (friendly, approachable)
- "Sift Assistant" (neutral, branded)
- "Smith & Jones Properties" (company name)
Personality
Choose a conversation style:
| Style | Description | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Professional | Formal language, no emoji, business-appropriate | Luxury properties, corporate clients |
| Friendly | Warm and conversational, occasional emoji | Most agencies — balances approachability with professionalism |
| Casual | Relaxed, emoji-friendly, conversational | Younger demographics, startup agencies |
The personality affects:
- Word choice and sentence structure
- Use of emoji and exclamation marks
- Level of formality in greetings and follow-ups
Greeting
The opening message sent when a lead starts a conversation:
"Hello! I'm Alex from Smith & Jones. I help people find homes across south Manchester. Are you buying or renting?"
Sift operates in English only. The agent is optimised for British English property terminology — including leasehold, freehold, chain-free, DIP/AIP, stamp duty, and pcm rent.
Saving Changes
Changes in the Playground config panel are saved when you click Save or update the setting. They take effect immediately for new conversations.
